Kitchen Gadgets and Gizmos Galore
Have you ever walked into Sur la Table or Crate and Barrel and been overwhelmed by all the kitchen gadgets and dish ware? You walk around the store aimlessly for hours and find a random mini strainer you don't even need but want it because its so cute and tiny. Or how about those blue single serve ramekins for the one dinner party you through every two years? It can be addicting thats for sure.
Out of all the random kitchen items I have collected over the years, and believe me it's been a lot, I have a few things that I absolutely love and use most! If you're looking for a new addition to your kitchen then you just might have come to the right post!
I'm going to first start with my KitchenAid Mixer! I love this kitchen gadget, why you ask? Because it's so much more then just a mixer! Sure it makes the perfect stiff peaked egg whites for meringues and beats a fluffy pineapple upside down cake mix, but with the flip of a few screws it can also become a spiralizer, slicer, shredder, ice cream maker and more! It's multi-functional which makes it practical! Do yourself a favor and make your cooking (and baking) life easier!
Next on my list, an emulsion blender! Now most the time I talk about this gadget people wonder what the heck it even is! Think of it like a food processor only smaller, which is exactly why I love it! First off, if you don't have an emulsion blender then you've never had soup the right way. I still remember the first time I made lobster bisque soup using mine and let me tell you... it was life changing! It also comes in handy if you like to use cauliflower as a carb substitute! It works wonder when creating a cauli-mash (recipe coming soon). Second, if you don't have room for a food processor its a great smaller gadget that can achieve similar textures without taking up the space!
Lastly, I have to put on here, my air fryer! The concoctions you can make in the air fryer are endless and the best part is, NO OIL! It creates light crispy, healthier versions of all your favorite fried foods, and anyone who knows me knows how much I love a good southern fried chicken! Seriously... it was the only thing I'd ever order from a restaurant growing up.. with a double side of mashed potatoes.. but thats getting off track. Anyways, I have found it to be a great addition to my kitchen. Keep checking back for my line of air fryer recipes coming soon including crispy fried catfish, southern style chicken, fried onion rings and low cal mozzarella sticks! If you don't have an air fryer don't worry, I'll give you tips on how to achieve similar crispiness in the oven!
